PATEA Miss M. Hamerton is visiting •lunterville. Mrs. A. Davidson and Miss Hilda Davidson have returned from North Taranaki. Mrs. W. White was a visitor to Wanganui for the week-end. Mr. Leslie Hrf.-is has returned from England. Mr. R. P. M. Young, Palmerston North, has joined the staff of the Bank of New South Wales, Patea. P.D.G.M. Bro. C. Allan, Hawera, was a visitor to the Patea Oddfellows’ Lodge last week to confer past officers’ degrees. Mr. aigf Mrs. H. Hodge, Alton, were presented with a well-filled wallet from settlers of the Alton district last week at a complimentary evening. Miss Olga Hodge was presented with a gold bangle, and Mr. Hodge also was the recipient, of a cheque from the Alton Young Farmers’ Club. TAIHAPE Mr. L. V, Skcet, of the Taihape staff of the Bank of New South Wales, has received notice of his transfer to Gisborne, and leaves Taihape on November 13. Mr. Skeet has made many friends since he arrived in Taihape and will be greatly missed. Mr. R. M. Goodwin, of Gisborne, has been appointed to succeed Mr. okeet on the staff of the Taihape branch of the Bank of New South Wales. Mr. R. M. McKinnon, of Hamilton, commences duty at the Bank of Australasia to-day in place of Mr. H. Hewetson, who leaves the same day for Wellington. Miss Ivy Mansfield leaves Taihape for Wellington this week. j Mrs. C. Evant, has returned to i Wanganui after a brief visit to TaiI hape. I Messis. Bei ridge. A. F. McKenzie, J. i Bosomworth and D.
