BIG FARMERS’ RALLY
PROTEST AT LEGISLATION. It is intended by a number of farmers in the Waveriey and Patea districts, to attend the big rally which is to be held at Hawera to-day, beginning at mid-day. Recent legislation in the Dominion has vitally affected the man on the land and the rally has been called under the auspices of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union. It is intended o discuss such subjects as increasing :ts, decreasing production and the .al" issue behind the guaranteed .ice. It was reported from Hawera last night that the rally is expected to bi. one of the biggest farmers' rallies ever held in New Zealand, and that it will afford an opportunity to obtain an authoritative expression of farming opinion on matters of importance to the whole Dominion.
