TURAKINA MEETINC
The usual monthly meeting was held in St. Andrew’s Hall on October 19. Miss Clarke presided oxer a fair attendance of members. After the usual ceremonies it was decided to take up a collection in aid of the local first-aid classes. Mesdames R. and A. Glasgow xvere appointed delegates to the half-yearly meeting. Arrangements were made for the birthday celebrations on November 16. The Aramoho Institute choir has been inx’ited and members are looking forward to a real musical treat. A dance is also being held in the evening and cards will be provided for nondancers. Miss D. Groshinsky concluded her very interesting account of her travels around the islands, which was enjoyed by al! members. The meeting closed with the singing of the National Anthem, after which afternoon tea was enjoyed. Competitions were as follow: Best bloom. Mrs. Day 1 and 2; Mrs. Govenlock 3; shoulder spray. Mrs. R. Glasgow 1 and 2, Mrs. Goxenlock 3. Hostesses for next month are all members.
