MANGAWEKA RIFLE CLUB

(Own Correspondent). MANGAWEKA. Oct. 27. ! The annual general meeting of. the iMangaweka Rifle Club was held or Wednesday evening when a fair at tendance was presided over by Mr. A Watkins. The minutes of the previous meeting were confirmed and the balancesheet adopted. The following officer! were elected for the coming season Patron, Mr. Hugh Johnston; president Mr. A. C. Watkins; deputy-president Mr. F. P. Dickinson; vice-presidents Messrs. S. Dickinson, junr., P. Green and M. Gardner; secretary anc treasurer, L. G. P. Mahoney: score: registrar and handicapper, Mr. A. C Watkins; dispute committee, Messrs A. C. Watkins, L. G. P. Mahoney, M Gardner, F. Dickinson, D. Flanagan E. Salt and P. Green. It was decided that the anual sub scriptions be the same as last year The opening shoot Is to be held or October 29. It was also decided tha the Handicap Cup be the best thre< shots out of four, and the opening daj shoot to be a counter for the Nasi Cup. Mention w as. also made and a vott ol thanks to Mrs. W. Hamilton foi making the paste each year. Th< meeting closed with a vote of thank: to the chair. CENTENNIAL CELEBRATIONS At a committee meeting of th< above, Mr. C. Oulsnam occupied th chair, there being a very good at tendance. After discussion it was de cided to hold a dance next month, ant the following committee was ap oointed: Mesdames Pairman, R. Lewis 'L. G. Smith, Misses Oulsnam, Collis Knight, and Messrs. R. Harding, , M Sutherland, R. Lewis, and L. G. f Mahoney, Misses Oulsnam and L Col]is are to be joint secretaries. The chairman reported that Mrs. G Macdonald, senr., was prepared t< make and ice a cake for competition also that Mrs. R. Lewis would dress < doll. Their offers were accepted and i vote of thanks passed.
