Mr. A. S. Burgess was re-elected president, at last night’s annual meeting of the Automobile Association (Wanganui). The Rev. E. Nicholls returned Wanganui yesterday from Wellington, where he attended an executive meeting of the Baptist Union of New Zealand. Inspector J. Powell, of the New Plymouth police district, will retire at the ' end of next month. After five years in the Royal Irish Constabulary, Mr. * Powell joined the New Zealand police • force 36 years ago. i Dr. A. P. M.
