THE CENSOR
IS the censor making a job for himself? It would appear to be so. for the Chronicle received yesterday a circular letter from a book publisher in London, the envelope bearing a halfpenny stamp. The censor examined it and then obligingly pasted it up and put a label on it to show that he had done what any postal official could have done to cheek its contents. Why the label in this case? It all makes work, which is presumably the purpose of the effort.
