TURANGAARERE MEETING
Air.-. Bartell presided al the October meeting of the furangaaere Women’s Institute. The members sang Comrades and Friends and repeated the aspirations, after which a report of the last meeting was read by Mrs. Redman (secretary). Business was dealt with and passed. The three minute report for tne federation meeting at Ohakune was read to the members, Mrs. Voltz being voted as reporting and Mrs. Redman as voting delegates. Members were asked to collect their institute potatoes ready for planting. Mrs. Redman read a letter from Mrs. Newton, of Mangapeehi Institute, exchanging books, and it was decided to send them some from Turangaarere. Hostesses for the November meeting will be Mesdamcs Coleman, Sinclair, and Voltz, and the competitions, Madiera cake and flowers arranged in a flouting bowl. Competitions were won as follows: — Hokey pokey: Miss E. Millan 1. Mrs. Sinclair 2. Three best bulbs, six varieties: Mrs. Canton 1. Mrs. Chadwick 2. Premier flower: Mrs. Bartell. Afternoon rea served by the hostesses was enjoyed by all. The meeting was closed with the singing of the National Anthem.
