MEDICAL EXAMINATIONS

-*>• WANG AM I RECK I ITS FOR SPECIAL FORCE RESUMING ON WEDNESDAY Medical examinations of recruits for the special force being raised by the Government for home or overseas service will resume in Wanganui on Wednesday. No recruits have been put through at the Drill Hall for about three weeks, but there are now about 50 young men waiting to be examined. The provisional date for the leaving of the next draft will be on November 6. The men will probably be distributed to the various camps at Trentham, Burnham and Ngaruawahia. The medical examinations start at 9 a.m. and there will be further examinations at 1 p.m. There will also be examinations in Taihape at 2 p.m. on Friday and in Marton at 10 a.m. on Wednesday. The following further Wanganui men have enrolled and have yet to be examined: I. Yardley, A. W. Buchan, *W. Gray, W. J. Frethey, G. H. Hunt, C. L. Hannan. D. G. Rugg, D. Halli- ■ day. J. A. Close, L. W. Ravewood, C. C. Stewart, L. P. Fromont, E. A. Guilford, K. H. McLeod, K. S. McCaul, N. I Bancks, L. Hegley, and J. M. Watson. Maori enlistments: K. Scott, P. H. ‘ Mete Kingi. and T. Potaka.
