The latest innovation to make housework lighter is the new stainless linen which nas been featured in London shops recently. ' The glass slipper of fairy tale fame has al last become a reality. Recently displayed in the windows of a wellknown shoe company in San Fran- , cisco were the first modern slippers in glass—designed lor beauty and comfort. The thick soles were made of i the new non-shatterabie glass one inch thick and curving to lit the instep. The heels were of the same glass and made in one piece with the j sole. These few pairs; of : dainty evening sandals are the first practical models of glass slippers to ; be produced for sale after months of experimentation. They are not likely to become too common because they - are rather costly—about one hundred ; dollars a pair.
