NO SIGN OF MISSING PIG HUNTER HOPE ALMOST ABANDONED. (Per Press A‘soeiation.) GISBORNE, July 19. A fortnight’s unremitting search on the slopes of Hikurangi Mountain for the missing Maori pig hunter, Dave Campbell, ended yesterday, when search parties disbanded. The mining man is believed to have died from injuries or exposure on the fog-bound heights where he separated from two companions while hunting on June 30. The missing man was an experienced bushman. but those who took part in the search declare that his experience would be practically valueless in the conditions prevailing then. Campbell was aged 22 and unmarried.
