Nash, now in England, in a letter to a leading English biscuit manufacturer, T a copy of which was received by an > Auckland wholesaler. j It states that the embargo on cer- f tain imports is to be regarded as a temporary measure, compensating for , previous excessive imports which in ' some cases had built up stocks to ab- , normal levels. It adds: "As soon as we are in a t position to do so (the present restric- , tions operate until the end of 1939) . the imports will be resumed to the full extent of our ability." , Mr. Nash adds: "We have no wis.i . to pursue a policy of isolation or sellsuliicicncy, and most of all v/e are [ anxious to maintain and extend our trade both ways with Great Britain.'’
