WRECKED CAR DISCOVERED

AT BOTTOM OF 150 FT. BANK SOLE OCCUPANT DEAD HASTINGS, June 18. A tragic discovery was made by a Maori on the main Napier-Taupo road at 11.30 this morning about one mile north of Tarawera Hotel, when the wreckage of a car was found at the foot of a 150-foot bank. Investigation revealed that the sole occupant was dead.

It has been ascertained that the victim was Malcolm Stewart Aimer, single, aged 29, service-car driver, of 39 Cloubern Road, Remuera, Auckland. Some indication of the time of the accident was given by a wristlet watch with the hands stopped at 4.45. The car was a total wreck. Aimer had severe head and internal injuries and it is believed that death was instantaneous.
