CALL AT ST. JOHNS
KING AND QUEEN THE DEPARTURE MARRED A SEAMAN KILLED (Bv Tfli-.-.raph- Pn'j A- ociation—Copyfight) ST. JOHNS (Newfoundland), June 18. The King .and Queen concluded their thirty days’ visit to the New World and sailed at 4.5 p.m. after witnessing the greatest celebration in the history of St. Johns. The departure was somewhat marred by the first fatality of the tour, a seaman named Samuel Batts, aged 23, of Halifax, and a member of the crew of the Royal liner, being killed when he fell into the sea from -.eck where he was repairing the cover of a lifeboat.

THE K ’EBERG ZONE. LONDON, June 18. The Empress of Britain reports that she has passed safely through the iceberg zone. ' While Their Majesties were visiting the escorting cruisers last evening in a choppy sea the propeller of their motor-launch fouled a fishing net. A substitute launch quickly took off the Royal party, who wore soaked with spray.
