j O’CALLAGHAN—McGUINN Tastefully decorated for the occasion with cyclamen and white cosmos, relieved with Michaelmas daisies, chrysanthemums and autumn leaves, I the Catholic Church at Mataroa provided a picturesque setting on Wednesday, April 19, for the wedding of Margaret Mary, daughter of Mr. T. McGuinn, of Koeke, and the late Mrs. McGuinn, and Herbert, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. H. O’Callaghan, of Auckland, formerly of Taihape. Widespread interest was taken in the event, which marked the union of two well-known and highly-respected pioneering families. Rev. Father M. B. Doolaghty officiated. The wedding march was played by Miss M. Hennessy. The bride, who was escorted by her father, looked charming in a lovely gown of magnolia slipper satin, cut on fitting lines, with long sleeves. She wore a beautiful magnolia veil, which was held in place by a coronet of lilies instead of the usual orange blossom. An exquisite bouquet of cream lilies, chrysanthemums, petunias, and maidenhair fern completed a charming toilette. The bride attended by her sister, Miss Frances McGuinn, as chief bridesmaid, and her cousin, Miss Sheila McGuinn, who were dressed alike in cyclamen hand-painted organza, cut on Empire lines, with a V neck and large puff sleeves. They carried bouquets of cyclamen, gladioli, dahlias and maidenhair fern lo tone with their frocks. The little flower girl, Frances Lord, niece of the bride, was attractively robed in a frock of Nile green moire silk in the Victoria style. The best man was Mr. V. Hurley (Hunterville), and the groomsman, Mr. T. McGuinn (Koeke). After the church ceremony, a reception was held in the Town Hall supper rooms, Taihape, where the bride’s aunt, Mrs. E. O’Leary, of Wanganui, received the guests, wearing a smart ensemble of black American crepe, with gold trimming and hat to tone. She carried a posy of polyanthus roses and autumn-tinted dahlias and leaves. Mrs. H. O'Callaghan, mother of the

bridegroom, wore a plum-coloured embossed crepe ensemble with hat. Io match. Her posy was composed of red dahlias, polyanthus roses, and autumn leaves. The usual toasts were honoured with enthusiasm. After the reception lhe happy couple left by car on a tour o£ the North Island. The bride travelled in a red model frock and tailored coat with accessories to tone, worn with a skunk fur necklet.
