RAETIHI W.D.F.U.
ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting of the Raetihi branch of the W.D.F.U. was held in the Druids’ Hall Hall on Thursday, 20th inst. Mrs. E. Houghton presided over a large attendance of members. The president gave an interesting resume of the year's working for which a very hearty vote of thanks was passed by acclamation. She also thanked the committee and members for their loyal support during the year. The election of officers resulted as follows: —President, Mrs. H. Sommerville; vice-president, Mesdames E. A. Volkerling, R. H. Hammond, J. F. Forsyth, C. B. Solly, C. Scarrow and E. Houghton; secretary, Mrs. F. E. Mitchinson (re-elected); committee, Mesdames T. Ward, T. McArthur, G. Skuse, H. Frederick, T. Barnett, J. R. Ciochetto, D. McLean and A. S. Ashmore. A vote of thanks was passed to Mr. F. L. Lee for auditing the books. Mrs. K. Lynch delighted members with two songs, after which a presentation was made to Mrs. Houghton for her untiring efforts on behalf of the division during her term as president, and also to Mrs. Mitchinson for her work as secretary. Afternoon tea was served by the committee and a birthday cake presented by Mrs. Houghton was very much enjoyed. A bring-and-buy stall did good business attended by Mrs. Solly and Mrs. McArthur.
