OLD BOYS’ CRICKET CLUB

AVERAGES FOR SEASON. MARTON, April 24. Some excellent bowling but some poor batting averages were returned by members of the Old Boys’ Cricket Club during the past season. The team finished third in the Rangitikei competition. Only three members of the team scored over 200 runs, M. Wysocki, who heads the averages, knocking up the most runs, 270. C. S. Beechey followed closely with 264 runs and scored the highest number of runs in one innings. Wysocki’s average of 16.8 was slightly better than Beechey’s 15.5. I. Jolly, who was the other member of the team to reach the 200 mark, was fourth, averaging 14 runs per innings, third place being taken by B. Klitscher, who had fewer innings than most of the other players. In the bowling department, Old Boys revealed their strength, D. Comrie, I. Jolly and H. F. Low all registering excellent figures, the first named, although not bowling as many overs as the others, ending the season with an average of 6.68. I. Jolly collected most wickets, 45. and with A. Duncan od Low bore the brunt of the attack. The following are the main batting and bowling averages:—
