RELATIONS WITH MEXICO. LONDON, April 24. Speaking in the House of Commons to-day, the Foreign Under-Sec-retary, Mr. R. A. Butler, said that, though preliminary conversations had recently taken place between the Mexican Government and representatives of the expropriated oilfields, there had been no development in the situation to justify Britain taking steps for the resumption of diplomtaic relations with Mexico. Britain's severance of relations with Mexico followed the expropriation of oil lands by that country. The British Government addressed a sharp Note to Mexico on the subject, and last May the Mexican Minister in London was withdrawn and the Legaticn closed because of Britain's "unfriendly attitude.”
