FOREIGN GRADUATES ADMITTED

OTAGO MEDICAL SCHOOL DECISION OF THE COUNCIL [ Per Pieaa Association. ] DUNEDIN, March 21. In terms of a decision reached by the Finance and Medical Committees of the Otago University Council, 13 foreign graduates will be admitted to the medical school. Reporting on the matter to a meeting of the council to-day, Mr. J. WalTaee, chairman of the Finance Com- ■ mittee, said that the committee had l conferred with Dr. Carmalt Jones, | Dean of the Medical Faculty, on the .question, and, as a result, it hafl resolved to approve of the admission of | the following 13 persons, subject, in the case of the last three, to their .being admitted by the Medical Board;

Drs. C. Newman, F. Kral, H. L. Hersch, M. Reichmanm J. Weiser, K. Koplowitz, Kent D. V. Kallmann, A. Heppner, O. Semon, H. Schmidt and Levinsohn, Segal and Oestreicher. The registrar was instructed to write to the Departments of Customs and Education informing them of the action that had been taken, but ■ pointing out that in future years it ; will be possible to accommodate a very small number of such graduates. The registrar was also instructed to ; write to the Medical Council inform- ; ing it of the Dosition.
