The following New Zealanders were presented to the King and Queen at the Court held on March 15; Miss Monica Acheson, Miss Gladys ActonAdams (Kaikoura), Miss Maisie Bell (Feilding), Miss Natalie Dudley (Christchurch), Miss Sidney Duigan, Miss Anne Farey (Wellington), Mrs. George Foote (Auckland), Miss Cecilia Keating (Greymouth), Mrs. James Laurenson, Miss Jeanne Norton (Wellington), Miss Kathleen O’Brien (Wellington), Miss Nancy Springhall (Wellington), and Miss Hilda Trotter (Dunedin).

Presentation to Player. A useful member of the Wanganui Croquet Club, Mrs. J. Carrig, was pre- : sented with a gift and the best wishes ' .were expressed for a happy holiday in , Australia by the club president, Mrs. ' Ballingall. Mrs. Carrig also received , a trophy as a section winner in a recent competition. The Young Contingent. Last Monday night, members of the ' Young Contingent of the Victoria ’ League held a sewing bee at the Vic- < toria League Roms in aid of the . Children’s Health Camp. After the : sewing was finished a light supper brought the evening to a close. Farewell Party. Mrs. W. Dobie entertained a number of friends at her home to bid , farewell to Mrs. and Miss Strauch, who are leaving Waitotara to make their home in Marton. Competitions were held and afternoon tea was served. The hostess presented Mrs. and Miss Strauch with a parting gift and pretty shoulder sprays. Miss Strauch, on behalf of her mother and herself, thanked Mrs. Dobie and the guests for their good wishes.
