INQUIRIES AT TRENTHAM
CHAMPION HACK CUP INCIDENT. The only inquiry held by the judicial committee of the Wellington Racing Club on Saturday was into some crowding going out of the straight in the Champion Hack Cup, when Capricious lost her position. After hearing the evidence of A. Messervy, the rider of Capricious, B. H. Morris, the rider of Mataroa, and C. T. Wilson, the rider of Wild Talk, the committee was satisfied that the crowding was accidental. The adjourned inquiry into the interference met with by Rakahanga and other horses early in the Railway’ Handicap on the first day was concluded with a similar finding.
