TAIHAPE DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOL SWIMMING SPORTS. SUCCESSFUL ANNUAL EVENT. (Own Correspondent.) The annual swimming sports in connection with the Taihape District High School were held in the Municipal baths on Friday afternoon. Fine weather prevailed and some good performances were registered. Championship titles were gained by the following:—Junior boys' championship, K. Murphy junior girls’ championship, J. Flight, P. Jensen and J. Smith (equal); senior girls, championship, Lulu Chesnutt; boys’ intermediate championship, S. Bowater; boys’ senior championship, O’Brien. The keen but friendly rivalry between the four houses was a noteworthy feature of the sports. Kiatoa finished first in the senior house competition with 51 points, while Tangaroa occupied a similar position in the junior house competition with 23 points.
