CHARGE OF FAILING TO ACCOUNT
DENLAIR MAN BEFORE COURT CASE OVER SWIMMING CLUB FUNDS A charge of failing to account for sums of money allegedly the property of the Fordell Swimming Club, was read against Walter William Gordon, a single man, of Deniair, in the Magistrate’s Court, at Wanganui, yesterday. It was alleged that he received, on or about December 1, 1938, from Max McGregor and others, sums totalling about £99 on terms requiring him to account for or pay the sum to the Fordell Swimming Club, and that he did fraudulently omit to account for or pay the sum, thereby committing theft. Mr. J. H. Salmon, S.M., granted a remand for one week.
