CRUDE STEEL PRODUCTION
GERMANY’S LARGE OUTPUT 22 PER CENT. OF WORLD'S NEEDS Received March 5, 5.5 p.m. BERLIN, March 3. Germany's steel production last year was 23,000,000 tons of crude steel or 15 per cent, higher than 1937 and 500,000 tons above the 1928 record. Germany now supplies 22 per cent, of the world's needs or only 4,000,000 tons behind the United States.
