ROYAL HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY'S AWARD v WANGAM I EXHIBITOR'S SI X'CESS A silver medal has been awarded t Miss J. M. Stevens, Wanganui, by lh Royal Horticultural Society. Londoi for a collection of New Zealand fern:

The collection was exhibited at the Wanganui and Suburban Horticultural Society's spring show, and so impressed the judge, Mr. W. A. Grace. Wanganui, that he recommended it for a R.oyal Society Award. His recommendation was approved and the medal was presented to Miss Stevens on Saturday by the president of the Wanganui and Suburban Society, Mr. W. P. Elliot. Specimens of practically every known New Zealand fern are included in the collection, which has been carefully and artistically mounted. Miss Stevens began her study of ferns when a member of lhe Wanganui Children’s Garden Circle, and became so interested in it that, she continued to add to her collection month by month after having ceased to qualify i for membership of the circle. She was one of the original members of the circle and was secretary of it for a year. “An exhibit like it has not been seen in Wanganui before,” said Mr. Elliot,” presenting the medal at the Wanganui and Suburban Horticultural Society's dahlia show on Saturday.
