SURF CHAMPIONSHIPS VISITED
CONC ERT AT NIGHT Firemen and their wives were taken to Castlecliff yesterday afternoon to attend the West Coast surf life-saving championships. Special trams were run for the visitors from and back to the post office. At night, a concert was staged in the Wanganui Opera House by the Wanganui Garrison Band and visit inp artists. This was also attended b\ visiting fire brigadesmen and then wives. The Mayor briefly welcomed the visitors, making special reference to the arrangements made for the entertainment of the womenfolk during their stay in the city.
