FRIENDS’ SCHOOL SWIMMING

SPORTS HELD OX SATURDAY AN ENJOYABLE TIME SPENT The annual swimming sports at the Friends’ School, Wanganui, were held on Saturday, in glorious sunshine. There was a large attendance ol parents and their friends, and old scholars.

Lilburn, Mr. and Mrs. Jenkins, Rev. and Mrs. Kerr. Mr. and Mrs. Monkhouse, Dr. Beaglehole, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Muggeridge, Mr. and Mrs. Montague Goldsbury, Mr. and Mrs. E. Goldsbury, Mesdames Archibald, S. Gibbons, Barwick, Mayo, Wagstaff, Morton. Wilkinson, McNeill, Spooner, Wills, Moore, Templeton, Reid, Williams, Woodham. Sheriff, Jock Mclntosh, Turner, Norrie, Hair, Rice, Abernethy, Lambert, Mr. and Mrs. Hughes, Mr. and Mrs. Roland Young. Mrs. and Miss Watson, Mr. and Miss Potter, Mr. and Mrs. Talboys. Misses Pairman, Moffatt, Cole, P. Wilkinson, R. Goldsbury, Deighton, N. Goldsbury, Mrs. and Miss Sternberg, Miss Muriel Ockenden, Messrs. Kelso, Killeen, Philip Trom, Dousett, Russell Gregory, Ivey. At the conclusion of the events the cups were presented by Mrs. Turner, daughter of the late Alfred Goldsbury. In asking Mrs. Turner to make the presentations, Mr. Douglass referred eulogistically to the efforts made by the late Mr. Goldsbury towards obtaining the baths for the school. During an interval afternoon tea was served in the large playing field.
