CRICKET AT DUNEDIN DEMPSTER'S DOUBLE CENTURY ( Per Press Association.] DUNEDIN, March 4. There was entertaining cricket for a crowd of nearly 3000 spectators, at Carisbrook Park, this afternoon for the second day of the match between Sir Julien Cahn’s team and Otago. On the first day, Otago scored 184 runs in its first innings and the visitors 105 runs for three wickets. To-day Sir Julien Cahn’s players carried their total to 434 and Otago batted for an hour and a quarter before “stumps" and scored 63 runs for the loss of one wicket. Features of the day.’s play were a double century by Dempster, and the fast scoring partnership between Dempster and Watts, who hit two sixes.
