KING AND QUEEN IN BIRMINGHAM

BRITISH INDUSTRIES FAIR VISITED TRIP TO NEW ZEALAND RECALLED (British Official Wireless) LONDON, March 2. The King and Queen spent seven hours in Birmingham on a visit on which they were attended by the Prime Minister, Mr. Neville Chamberlain. The King and Queen visited the heavy industries section of the British Industries Fair as well as shadow factories in the neighbourhood of Birmingham. The Queen inspected a new housing estate and renamed the centre hospital in Birmingham the “Queen Elizabeth Hospital” when she paid a visit there. The King, visiting the New Zealand stand at the fair, saw a picture of a dairy farm, and said: “I remember visiting that farm 12 years ago,” states an Independent Cable Service message. He also noticed a stuffed rainbow trout in a glass case and recalled that the Queen had caught one while visiting New Zealand.
