BRITISH HAWKER BOMBER FIRST ARRIVAL FOR CANADIAN PACIFIC DEFENCES VANCOUVER, March 2. A Hawker-Hurricane bomber costing £20,000, the first of five to arrive from England for Pacific defences and capable of 350 miles an hour, swept oiit of control during a test flight take-off and crashed in flames from 50 feet. It was destroyed. Sergeant Pilot R. Davis leaped and escaped with bruises.
