PALESTINE TALKS
REPRESENTATION NOT YET SETTLED. PROGRESS IN RESTORATION OF ORDER. [ British Official Wireless. ] LONDON, Feb. 1. The Colonial Secretary, Mr Malcolm MacDonald, in the House of Commons announced that the Palestine discussions would open on February 7. The representation of the Palestine National Defence Party at the talks is still not settled, but, answering a question in the House, Mr. MacDonald said he expected that it soon would be. Regarding the situation in Palestine itself, Mr. MacDonald said: “Further progress has been made during the past month in the restoration of order. The close control established by the military authorities has made it Increasing!}' difficult for large bands of terrorists to operate, and rebel activity has recently taken the form of numerous isolated acts of terrorism
