C.J.C. CANDIDATES THE FINAL GALLOPS [ Per Fress Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 2. More last work at Riccarton this morning was done on the plough which was ir good order, only a few trainers patronising the outside of the course. There were some smart gallops. Royal Chief and Sovereign Lady did a good mile and Density went well over seven furlongs. There were also some smart sprints. Trench Fight, after doing the first three furlongs in 37 2-ssec. finished six in 1.16 4-5, going at a sound pace for two more furlongs. Royal Chief and Sovereign Lady were on terms at the end of a mile in 1.41 3-5, the last half in 50 2-ssec. This was a very good gallop. Botli finished strongly. Wild Chase was not hurried to cover six furlongs in 1.18 2-5. Great Flight beat Great Swoop over three furlongs in 37 3-ssec. Moorsotis ran five furlongs in 1.2 3-5. Prudent Prince joined in over the last three and was going better than his mate. There was nothing between Wild Talk and Paper Slipper at the end of five furlongs in 1.2. This was a smart effort but 4 Kilrobe registered 1.1 1-5, the best of the morning. Palmyra beat Terribly over half a mile in 50sec. Golden Chest gave Studley Royal a start and was with him at the enu of six furlongs in 1.15 3-5. After registering 37 4-5 for the first three West Wind ran five furlongs in 1.5 2-5. Rex Mortland took 1.8 3-5, while Dranvei beat Full Back in 1.7. Brilliant Density. Density cleared out from Jewish Lad to get to the end of seevn furlongs in 1.28 4-5. She showed great speed to do the first half-mile in 48 4-ssec., a smart performance. Phalanx was more than a length in front of Fidelis at the end of five furlongs in 1.4. Real Lady was three lengths away, while Mahoha took 1.17 1-5 by himself, Dividend following in 1.21 4-5. Rebel Rank led Gay Huzzar ovci three furlongs up the back in 37 2-ssec. Elmarch and Rebel Queen took 1.13 3-5 for six furlongs. Glenogle and Comus ran live furlongs in 1.3 2-5, while Rebel Chief ; did half a mile in 45 2-ssec.
