FIRE TRAGEDY
MAN BURNT TO DEATH. [ Per Press Association.] INVERCARGILL, Jan. 14. Robert Fraser, aged 37, died this morning as the result of suffocation following an outbreak of fire in his home at 4.30 a.m. His wife, three children, and their housekeeper got out, when it was found that a fourth I child had been left inside. The front portion of the house was burning fiercely and Mr. Fraser returned to the burning building. When the brigade broke in they discovered him lying in the hall badly burned about the shoulders and face. He was still breathing, but he died on the way to hospital. The child was rescued in the passage and is making a good recovery from its slight burns. ~ F~- ■ - --
