NEW ZEALAND JUNIOR TENNIS TOURNAMENT

EXCELLENT ENTRIES RECEIVED

PLAY BEGINS AT WANGANUI ON WEDNESDAY

The New Zealand junior tennis championships will begin on the Wanganui Lawn Tennis Club’s courts, Nelson Street, next Wednesday. This will be the first time the championships have been held away from the four main centres, Wanganui being chosen by the New Zealand Association as a most suitable place in which to hold them. Excellent entries have been received and are well distributed throughout the Dominion. The 101 entrants for the junior championships consist of 51 girls and 50 boys, and they hail from the following centres: Taranaki 16, Wellington 18. Canterbury 7, Auckland 6, Manawatu 9, Waikato 4, Marlborough 3, Hawke's Bay 5, Otago 3, North Auckland 3, West Coast 1, Wairarapa I, Wanganui 25.
