BEER DRINKING
Sir, —One has to take with a grain of salt information on beer drinking that comes from Invercargill. If ft is true that the Invercargin men and youths are a beer generation then surely it is nothing of which to be proud. When Sir Eagar Vanders commenced the campaign of ‘'Drink More Beer" the Britisn Medical Association spoke of the movement as a retrogressive idea. It was not in the interests of the British people that such a scheme should be adopted by them and certainly if not for Britain nothing short of disaster to this new country can so easily be brought about as to soak the minds of tne workers in beer. The workers are the masters to-day and may be for many years to come. It is of the greatest importance that they have cleat brains and not beer brains.—Yours etc., HERBERT GRINSTEAD, Sen. 3 Nelson St., Wanganui.
