RAETIHI

PERSONAL Miss J. Jenkins, of Wellington, is visiting her parents for the Christmas week. Messrs. C. D. and L. Lynch are Raetihi visitors to Stratford. Mr. and Mrs. S. Cross, of Wellington, are at present on a three weeks’ holiday in Raetihi and are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Waring. Miss M. Ward, of Hamilton, is at present on vacation, and staying with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. Ward. Ballance Street. After spending the Christmas holidays with her parents in Raetihi, Miss J. Ward returned to Hamilton last Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. E. N. Barratt and family, of Auckland, who are on a motor tour, spent the Christmas vacation at Raetihi and were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. N. L. Barratt, Ballance Street. Mr. H. Knowles, of Wanganui, was in Ohakune for the Christmas and was the guest of Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Nation. Miss Francie Oliver, of Waipukurau, spent the Christmas vacation with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Oliver, Raetihi. Mrs. James Watson spent the week-end in Raetihi and was the guest of Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Oliver. Mr. R. B. Ashwell, of Wellington, who has just returned for a tour of the Islands on the H.M.S. Leander, spent the Christmas vacation with his sister (Mrs. L. W. Nation). Mrs. Fred Webb and daughter, of Raetihi. are at present on holiday at Stratford. Mr. and Mrs. Brazendale, of Carterton. are spending a short holiday at Raetihi and are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Russell. Mr. and Mrs. Graham and daughter, of Waihataui, are staying with Mr. and Mrs. Russell during the Christmas holidays. Mr. and Mrs. S. R. Townson, of Ohakune. are at present spending a short holiday at Kai Iwi neach. Mr. and Mrs. H. Phillips and daughter, of Wellington, are at present on a visit to Raetihi and are staying at Mrs, Heine’s. EARTHQUAKE . Quite a strong shake was felt in ! Raetihi at 2.20 p.m. on Friday.
