REBELS ADVANCING
LOYALISTS’ POSITIONS PRECARIOUS Received Jan. 2, 11.30 p.m. LONDON, Jan. 1. The Times’ Saragossa correspondent says the rebels are advancing in the southern sector. Despite the necessity for storming a succession of welldefended ridges between the River Segre and the Tierra Dellana foothills, they crossed the River Sant ahead of time-table. The position of the loyalists in the lower Ebro is increasingly precarious.
