OPERATION AT SEA
[ Per Press Association.] AUCKLAND, Dec. 23.
An appendix operation at sea performed by Dr. Joseph Auerbach was the only incident of note on the Monterey’s passage from San Francisco to Auckland. The patient was a passenger, Mr. R. E. Smith, who is travelling to Sydney. His condition became acute between Honolulu and Suva, and the operation was successful.
