MORE BUILDING PERMITS
PALMERSTON NORTH’S TOTAL LAST YEAR’S FIGURES PASSED ! Per Press Assejintion.] PALMERSTON N., Dec. 23. Representing an aggregate value of £221,841, the highest total for many years, 322 building permits were issued by the Palmerston North City Council during the year, despite the fact that a shortage of skilled artisans retarded the commencement of several projected works. Compared with £215,315 for 1937, the value of the permits show an increase of £6520. State houses are not included in the returns. Several big buildings are projected next year.
