TARANAKI A.I.F. MET
ASSOCIATION PLANNED MR. GRIBBLES INTEREST NEW PLYMOUTH, Oct. 26. It is the hope of the Rev. E. L. B. Gribble, a former member of the Australian Imperial Forces, to form an association of A.I.F. returned men in Taranaki before the visit to New Zealand of their former comrades from Australia in 1940 in return for the attendance of New Zealanders at the Sydney Anzac celebrations this year. Mr. Gribble told a ic orter yesterday that there were r.. *e A.I.F. men in Taranaki than was generally realised. He himself knew of about 50. He hoped that an association could be formed so that when the Australian contingent arrived it could be entertained by Australian ex-servicemen as well as by the Returned Soldiers’ Association. About two shiploads of Australians would come to New Zealand and a good number of them would visit Taranaki.
