WOMEN’S INSTITUTE
RANGIWAEA MEETING Rangiwaea held its monthly meeting on October 20 with a fair attendance and one new member. “Beautiful Thoughts” were quoted from books and discussed in continuation of the golden thread. Next meeting is to be held as an international day and members are asked to bring flags of other countries. Mrs. Bayne demonstrated lacebark work and showed fern books made in this way. It was decided to join with the Children’s Garden Circle to purchase cloth coverings for the flower shows in the institute and Garden Circle colours. The competition, collection of unboiled sweets, was won by Mrs. W. Bell in the senior section and Miss J. ' Donovan in the junior. First-aid classes and garden circle ( meetings were continued and will be : held next month on the first and sec- : ond Thursdays. Competition for gar- i den circle meeting will be a vase of flowers and foliage.
