AUCKLAND SEATS
MAJORITIES INCREASED [ Per Press Association.] AUCKLAND, Oct. 26. Three of the final counts for 11 electorates in the immediate vicinity of Auckland were declared by the returning officers to-day, these being for the Remuera, Onehunga and Otahuhu seats. In each case the provisional majority of the successful candidate was increased. Remuera. The provisional figures for Remuera were: W. P. Endean (N.) - 8943 Mrs. M. M. Dreaver 635 V The final figures are; W. P. Endean (N.) 9605 Mrs. Dreaver (L.) 6744 The majority for Mr. Endean was increased from 2589 to 2861. 1935—W P. Endean (N.), 5758: A. G. Osborne tL. I. 5028; Sip Alex. Herdman (I.). 3334; E. C. Jordan (Lib.), 507. Informal. 174. Total. 14.801 (16,176). 1931. —W. P. Endean (Coal.), 7374; J. W. Yarnall (L.), 2553 ; W. C. Hewitt (I.), | 1377. Onehunga. In the Onehunga electorate the provisional figures were: A. G. Osborne (L.) 8815 J. Park (N.) 4719 The final figures are: A. G. Osborne (L.) 9412 J. Park (N.) 5098 The majority for Mr. Osborne was increased from 4096 to 4314. 1936 (by-election)—A. G. Osborne (L.), 5241 ; F. W. Doidge (N.J, 3830. 1935 —W. J. Jordan (L.), 9345 ; H. J. Wily (N.), 2940 ; H. Thornley (D.), 1020. In- , formal, 76. Total. 13,384 (14,821). i 1931—W. J. Jordan (L.), 7401; S. Richards (Coal.). 4007. Otahuhu. The provisional count for Otahuhu gave Mr. C. R. Petrie (Labour) 6645 votes and Mr. K. B. Tennent (National) 4463. The final figures are: C. R. Petrie (L.) . 7020 K. B. Tennent (N.) . 4753 Mr. Petrie’s majority was increased from 2182 to 2267.
