LEAGUE DELEGATE RECALLED POSSIBLE RESIGNATION Received Aug. 12, 8.20 p.m. LONDON, Aug. 11. The Daily Telegraph’s Warsaw correspondent says Poland is recalling its resident delegate from the League of Nations, but the action cannot be regarded at present as withdrawal from the League—merely a reduction of Polish contacts with the League, especially in the political sphere. It is admitted, nevertheless, that Poland is unlikely to submit again to candidature for League membership. The Foreign Minister, in a statement, said Polish interest in the League had declined. He pointed out that France and Britain did not possess permanent delegates at Geneva Poland’s withdrawal from the League for the time being had not been decided, but it was possible she woul. renounce her seat. PRESIDENCY Ol ASSEMBLY Received Aug. 12, 7.5 p.m. LONDON, Aug. 11. Mr. W. J. Jordan (New Zealand* will become the temporary president by rotation a few days before the League Assembly meets in September, when the president is elected. Mr. Jordan denies he has been sounded as to whether he wil accept the presidency.
