BIBLE CLASS FESTIVAL THIRD NIGHT’S RESULTS There was a large audience at St. Paul’s Hall last night when the Wanganui Youth Movement’s fifth annual inter-Bible Class musical and elocutionary competitions were continued. The performances were again of a high standard. The judge of the musical items, Mr. G. A. D. Mcßeth, commented that the sincerity of the singing in the sacred solos had impressed him very much. The competitions will not be held to-night but will conclude to-morrow night when the Buxton Banner will be presented to the church whose Bible Classes secure the highest aggregate of points. The banner is at present held by St. Pam’s Presbyterian Church. The programme tomorrow night will include scripture reading, mixed quartettes, folk dancing, drill squads, Bible Class choirs, humorous recitations (under 18 years), humorous interludes an I a one-act play.. At last night’s sesion, one-act plays were presented by the St. Paul’s and Wesley Bible Classes. The awards of the judges were as follow: — Sunday School Choirs—St. Andrew’s Sunday School (“Tara’s Halls”), 1; St. Paul’s Sunday School (“Hunting Song”), 2. Ladies’ Duet.—Misses Nancy Che Hey and Jean Syme (“I Would That My Boundless Love”), 1; Misses Gwen Simpson and Louie McPhail (“The Day is Done"), 2; Misses Kathleen Barrett, and Ethel Brailsford (“Arise, O Sun”), 3. Non-Humorous Recitation, under 18 years.—Gwitha Haggle (“The Gift of Tritemious”), 1; Gertie Bates (“The Bivouac Fire”), 2; Una Colmer (‘The Old Dress”), 3. Contralto Solo. —Miss Jean Syme (“Yonder”), 1; Miss Joyce Reynolds (“Still as the Night”), 2. Piano Solo, 18 years and over.--Don-ald Smith (Rachmaninoff’s ‘ Prelude”) 1; Miss Agnes Peffers (“Waltz in E Minor”), 2. Men’s Solo.—Mr. D. Tizard (“The Lute Player”), 1; Mr. Archie Simpson ("Silent Moon”), 2.
