A firm tone was maintained at the i Westfield stock sale to-day, when an j average yarding of steers sold fully [ firm at late rates, the best price being J £l5 15s. There was steady competi- . tion at recent prices for an average I yarding of sheep, a large proportion ■of which were of inferior quality. .Extra choice ox sold to 39s per 1001 b. choice and prime 36s to 38s; choi< j I and prime cow and heifer 31s to 365, 'unfinished 23s to 31s. Extra heavy J prime steers £l3 10s to £l5 15s, heavy i £l2 to £l3 ss, medium £ll to £l2 2s 16d, light £9 12s 6d to £lO 17s 6d; extra . heavy prime cows and heifers £lO to ' £ll 17s 6d, heavy £7 10s >o £9 15s, medium £6 to £8 10s, light £3 10s to £7 ss. Stores showed an advance of 4s a head, selling at 23s to 355. Baconers averaged 63d per lb, and porkers 61d to 63d.
