SHORTAGE OF WORK
BRITISH AIRCRAFT FIRMS COMMONER QUOTES LETTERS LONDON, May 10. A member of the House of Commons, Mr D. Sandys (Con.) has sent a letter to Lord Winterton giving the names of aircraft firms who are discharging employees owing to a shortage of work, with extracts of letters from the firms. He quotes as instances, "Since the beginning of the year we have had to discharge 500 men and are discharging 50 more within a fortnight.” "Our firm has fallen from an output of 300 propellers weekly to below 20.”
