A 40-hour week was granted to workers employed in any department •f the soap, soda-crystal or cand'e actory, and a 41-hour week to corkers engaged in the tallow, main re, casing or by-products factory. Wages ranging from £1 2s 6d weeky for males under 16 years to 2s 4d in hour were agreed to and for fenales 17s 6d Io £2 7s 6d. It wa.< igrced to pay overtime at the rate J time and a-half for the first four cars, with a minimum payment oi s 6ri an hour. It was provided that ihift-workers be paid the same overime rate for ail time worked beyond fight consecutive hours in any period )f 24 hours. Double rates are to be laid for all work on public holiday.
