“THE RETURN OF THE SC ARLET PIMPEKNELL.” The Scarlet Pimpernel, immortal hero created by Baroness Orizy, once more to the screen in the stirring action “The Return of the Scarlet Pimpernel,” which is screening finally to-day and to-morrow at the Plaza Theatre. Barry K. Barnes, promising young British actor, handles the title role with distinction and is ably supported by Sophie Stewart, Margueretta Scott, James Mason, and Francis Lister. All the old familiar figures are in this story; Sir Percy Blakeney himself, as debonair, foppish and courageous as ever; Chauvelin, as smooth as always; Lady Blakeney, again. a pawn in the French game; P.obespierre, as murderous as a revolutionary dictator should be. As the title implies, the story continues the later adventures of the Pimpernel. It was produced by Alexander Korda. “45 Fathers." More full ot mischief than ever the irresistible Jane Withers makes a welcome return to the screen in ”45 Fathers," commencing on Friday at the Plaza Theatre. The story deals with a child who returns to America from a foreign country under the auspices of the “Spear and Gun Club,” ar> American club to which her father once belonged. She arrives complete with monkey, and crashes through the sacred portals of the club, spreading havoc in large quantities. In a draw the club president, becomes the guardian of Jane. At his house she meets young, handsome, and wealthy Thomas Beck, and a firm friendship is set up. Louise Henry is the designing female who attempts to win Thomas Beck by fair means or foul, but Jane is equally determined that she shall not.
