“LOFTY” BEATEN

DEFEAT OF BLOMFIELD “CANADIAN COWBOY” WINS FRALEY'S SUPERIORITY [ I*sr Pros* Association, j AUCKLAND, May 2. The New Zealand wrestling champion “Lofty” Blomfield suffered his first defeat since his return from America at the hands of Pat Fraley, the "Canadian Cowboy," in a match which drew a capacity house to the Town Hall to-night. No falls were registered during the eight eight-minute rounds, and the decision in favour of Fraley was given on points. The Canadian made his second appearance in Auckland and New Zealand, he having previously defeated Joe Tonti here. There was no doubt about Fraley's superiority in to-night's match as it was clear from the outset that he had Blomfield worried by his ability to vary his method of attack.
