RESCUED FOR THE FILMS
FROM DOGS’ HOME TO SCREEN Wanganui theatregoers who have seen "Wings of the Morning,” or "Storm in a Teacup,” will remember the parts played by one of the minor characters, a dog, who proviueo nevertheless some of the most interesting scenes in both films. This dog provides the subject for "Scruffy,” an autobiography by Claude Burbridge which is among the latest additions to the shelves of the Wanganui Public Library. Part sheep-dog, part collie, the canine hero was rescued from a home for dogs, and was trained for film work, achieving signal success. Another book which will provide much interest in "Antipodean Journey,” by Margaret L. MacPherson. It is,a fascinating travel book covering New Zealand, Australia and the South Sea Islands.
