PROBLEMS FOR SOU TION COMING CONFERENCE AT PARIHAKA PA [ Per Press Association. 1 NEW PLYMOUTH, April 30. One of the most important gatherings of the aMori race in the history of New Zealand is to take place at Parihaka pa, near New Plymouth, on | June 19 and 20. Representatives will be present from every tribe in the Dominion, and the natives will seek ways of dealing with three great problems confronting the race at pre-sent-health and housing, drink and gambling, and the drift from religion. Leading Maoris in Taranaki state that the whole future of the Maori race hinges or. overcoming these problems and that this is a chance for the natives to help themselves and maintain their standing in the advancing world.
